9/14: Faux Queen Pageant: Sisters Grimm

Once upon a time, in a city by a bay, the fiercest faux queens in the kingdom vied for their own happy ending!  This September 14, 2013, Bea Dazzler brings the FAUX QUEEN PAGEANT out of the woods and onto the stage at Slim’s!

The Faux Queen Pageant is an "only-in-SF" glamour contest started in 1995 by Diet Popstitute and Ruby Toosday, continued by the KLUBSTiTUTE KOLLECTiVE, that benefits many local community organizations. Originally intended for female female-impersonators, that is, women-pretending-to-be-men-pretending-to-be-women, the FQP has been restored by title winner Bea Dazzler, becoming a celebration for women drag performers in their own right.

This year, Bea Dazzler teams up with the one-of-a-kind performer L. Ron Hubby to bring you this season of the witch; and candidates will compete with a “Sisters Grimm” theme, a world of fractured fairy tales where the princess rescues herself with for own happy ending!

Contestants contend in two categories:  the Fairy Tale Couture fashion walk, and the Talent Competition.  (PSST!  Audience members can pick their favorite performer for a special Audience Favorite Prize with points granted with each dollar tipped!)

Fauxs vie for fabulous prize packages and baskets of goodies from donors including:  Heklina of Trannyshack, Retrofit, Kent Taylor Photography, and more!--but only one will rise victorious and walk away with the title, FAUX QUEEN 2013!  This year’s pageant is definitely not by the book!
